Therapy Intensives: Healing, Uninterrupted
When You Need More Than an Hour
Life doesn’t pause for healing— but what if it could? You’ve tried talking. You’ve tried coping. But some wounds need more than an hour to unpack. Maybe you’re sitting with:
A trauma that lives in your body—a memory that hijacks your breath, a shame spiral that coils tight in your chest and never dissolves. Weekly sessions barely scratch the surface, and each one ends just as you’re starting to open up.
A relationship rupture so deep that 50 minutes only gets you to the edge of repair before time runs out. Leaving you desperate and dysregulated heading back into fractured partnership for the rest week.
A life transition or existential crisis — infidelity, religious deconstruction, neurodivergent burnout — whatever you’re carrying demands focused attention now, not spread out over months.
Limited time or funds, but you’re desperate for a shift— therapy intensives offer you an opportunity to replace survival mode with embodied living.
Stop Skimming the Surface and Dive In
Therapy intensives are designed for moments like these: longer, immersive sessions (3–5 hours) where we dive beneath the surface—without rushing, without interruption—so you can leave feeling lighter, clearer, and truly transformed.
What Makes an Intensive Different?
Space for Your Whole Story
Unlike traditional therapy (where you might spend 20 minutes just getting present), intensives give you:
3–5 uninterrupted hours to explore, process, and release—without the emotional whiplash of starting & stopping.
Time for your nervous system to truly settle. No rushing past the "hard part" because the clock ran out.
Room to move between modalities (EMDR and somatic work and parts work) in a single session, tailored to your pace, and your needs.
A Customized Roadmap
Before your intensive, we’ll meet for a 50-minute deep-dive intake to:
Identify your top priorities for our time together: "I need to process this memory." "We have to repair this rupture." "I’m done feeling hijacked by my past."
Map out your nervous system’s triggers and safety needs, and create a robust toolkit of resources and regulation techniques.
Co-create a plan that incorporates and eclectic blend of EMDR, Brainspotting, Internal Family Systems, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Somatic Experiencing or Polyvagal Techniques—so no minute is wasted
Processing & Integration
Your Intensive Day
3–5 hours of focused, compassionate work (with a 30-minute break for food/rest in longer sessions).
A pace that honors your body and emotions—we’ll pause throughout the session, check in, and adjust as needed. Feel free to bring comfort items and cozy clothes to your space as well.
No distractions, no cliffhangers—just undivided attention and attunement to your healing journey.
Transformation That Lasts
After your intensive, we’ll meet for a 50-minute integration session to:
Anchor your transformation with concrete tools & techniques.
Refine your personalized toolkit for navigating triggers, communication, and self-care.
Determine if you need ongoing sessions, another intensive, or if you are ready to fly solo.
Who Benefits Most From Therapy Intensives?
For Trauma Processing (EMDR/Brainspotting + IFS)
When you’re tired of memories feeling like open wounds.
Target 1–3 specific events or themes (e.g., religious indoctrination, childhood neglect, PTSD triggers).
Use Brainspotting or EMDR to reprocess trauma without retraumatizing—letting your nervous system finally release what it’s been holding.
Integrate IFS ("parts work") to heal fragmented emotions with curiosity, not force.
Example: you may wish to process a core memory rooted in shame inherited from an evangelical upbringing in one intensive, freeing you from decades of self-punishment.
For Couples & Families in Chronic Conflict
When every conversation loops back to the same hurt.
Unpack 1–3 entrenched patterns (e.g., ADHD-related resentment, parental enmeshment, betrayal trauma).
Use couples-focused EMDR to heal shared triggers (e.g., a fight that always escalates because of old wounds).
Practice real-time repair with EFT and somatic techniques—learning to pause, attune, and reconnect mid-conflict.
Example: As a polycule navigating jealousy triggers, a 4-hour intensive can help you create new agreements that honor everyone’s attachment needs.
For Those Short on Time/Budget
When you need "concentrated therapy"
Tackle 2–4 pressing issues in one marathon session (e.g., neurodivergent burnout + religious deconstruction + relationship anxiety).
Blend psychoeducation + experiential work—like practicing assertive communication in the room or mapping your ADHD nervous system’s needs.
Send you home with a crisis toolkit: body-based grounding, scripted dialogues, or trauma resets.
Example: A busy parent processes latent postpartum trauma in one intensive, freeing them to finally bond with their child.
Why It Works?
Intensives Are Targeted, Intentional & Transformative
Go further in one day than months of hourly sessions.
No warm-up/wind-down time—we stay in the healing zone and let everything process.
Ideal for major breakthroughs and shifts, or time-sensitive needs.
Cost-effective — less overhead, more progress, highly concentrated work.
Your brain & body get the time that they need. Trauma and deeply entrenched patterns don’t heal in bite-sized pieces.
Crisis-Ready: For when you can’t wait weeks to feel relief.
Please note: Therapy Intensives are not an alternative to higher level of care i.e. IOP, PHP, Hospitalization. Therapy intensives are not appropriate for those experiencing active suicidal ideation, psychotic episodes or other mental health crises
Is This You?
"I need to process this trauma now—not in bits and pieces."
"We keep having the same fight, and 50 minutes isn’t enough to fix it."
"I don’t have time for weekly therapy, but I can’t keep living like this."
If you’re ready to:
Finally process the pain you’ve been avoiding.
Finish the conversation that always gets cut short.
Leave a session feeling relieved & rejuvenated
... an intensive might be a good fit for your healing journey.

A deep, focused healing experience designed for meaningful and lasting change.
1. Pre-Screener & Intake Session (50 mins) – Laying the Foundation
Before diving into the intensive, we’ll meet for a 50-minute Intake to ensure this process is tailored specifically to your needs and the relief you hope to achieve in our work together. In this session, we will:
Welcome Guide Prior to our intake, you will receive the Welcome Guide which will have several prompts and questions to help you reflect on your needs, and ensure that we are creating a tailored program fit for your goals.
Identify your top 3 goals – What do you most want to focus on?
Healing trauma?
Resolving relationship conflict?
Breaking free from old patterns
We’ll clarify your priorities, together.
Create a roadmap – Together, we’ll structure the intensive so you know exactly how we’ll approach your healing journey.
Assess coping & support – We’ll explore how you currently manage stress, process emotions, and challenges so we can tailor the intensive to your unique needs.
Assess Risk - Together we will explore any potential risk factors that might indicate that a therapy intensive may not be the best fit for your needs (right now) and make alternative arrangements and plans if necessary
2. The Intensive Session (3-5 hours) – Focused, Intentional Healing
This is where the real work happens. You’ll have the space to fully immerse yourself in the process without the constraints of a traditional hour-long session. Here’s what to expect:
Get cozy in your space – Settle into a quiet, private, and distraction-free environment. Bring any comfort items (blankets, tea, journal, etc.) to help you feel grounded.
Begin with grounding – We’ll start by settling in, regulating your nervous system, and preparing for the work ahead.
Follow your roadmap – Using the plan we created in the intake, we’ll engage in targeted processing, whether that’s:
Healing trauma – Safely exploring and reprocessing difficult experiences.
Couples/Family work – Resolving conflict, rebuilding trust, and reconnecting with loved ones.
Breaks as needed – You’re in control of your pacing. For longer sessions (especially 5 hours), we’ll take a 30-minute break, but we can pause anytime.
3. Integration & Follow-Up (50 mins) – Solidifying Your Growth
The intensive doesn’t end when the session does. In our follow-up, we’ll:
Reflect on insights & growth – What shifted for you? What felt most powerful?
Build your toolkit – We’ll equip you with coping skills, regulation techniques, and communication strategies to sustain your progress.
Plan your next steps – Some clients feel complete after one intensive, while others want ongoing sessions or another intensive. We’ll decide together what’s best for you.

That’s the kind of shift a therapy intensive can create.
This isn’t just another session. It’s a sacred, spacious dive into the heart of what’s been holding you back. In our time together, you’ll:
Release what no longer serves you – Say goodbye to the emotional knots that keep you stuck in cycles of insecurity, inauthenticity, or disconnection.

Transform your relationships – Whether it’s with your partner, family, or yourself, you’ll learn how to communicate from a place of clarity and compassion, breaking free from patterns that leave you feeling lonely or misunderstood.
By the end of our intensive, you won’t just have talked about change—you’ll have experienced it. You’ll walk away with:
✨ A renewed sense of calm – Your nervous system will learn what safety and regulation feel like, so overwhelm doesn’t dictate your life.
✨ Deeper connections – Imagine looking into the eyes of someone you love and feeling the trust between you, without old resentments clouding the moment.

How to Get the Most Out of Your Therapy Intensive
Your intensive is a powerful opportunity for profound healing and transformation—and the way you prepare for it can make all the difference. Here’s how to create the ideal conditions for your growth, so you can walk away feeling truly seen, heard, and transformed.
Setting the Stage: Your Environment Matters
Choose a cozy, private space in your home where you won’t be interrupted. This is yourtime—protect it.
Make it nurturing: Soft lighting, a warm blanket, a comforting drink, or anything that helps you feel safe and grounded.
Minimize distractions: Silence your phone, close unnecessary tabs, and let others know you’re unavailable. This is about you.
Have comfort items nearby: A stress ball, fidget tools, lots of tissues, or weighted blanket can help if emotions feel intense.
Getting Clear on Your Goals (Before We Begin)
Your Welcome Guide includes prompts to help you reflect—don’t skip them! The more specific you are, the more targeted our work can be. Ask yourself:
“What’s the #1 thing I want to feel differently after this intensive?” (e.g., "I want to stop reacting in anger when I’m hurt.")
“What old story or pattern am I ready to let go of?” (e.g., "I’m done feeling like I’m ‘too much.’")
“How will I know this intensive was ‘worth it’?” (e.g., "I’ll feel calmer in my body and speak up without guilt.")
During the Intensive: Honoring Your Process
Take breaks as needed—this isn’t a marathon. If you need to pause, breathe, or move, we will honor that.
Use grounding tools between segments: Sip water, stretch, or use a sensory anchor (like a textured object) to stay present.
Trust the process—if emotions surge, it’s okay. We’ll move at your pace, not force anything, and ride the waves together as they come.
After the Intensive: Keeping the Momentum Alive
Journal within 24 hours—even messy, unfiltered notes help solidify insights.
Practice one small skill daily—maybe a breathing technique or a new way of responding in conversations.
Schedule your integration session—this is where we make sure your growth sticks.
Bonus: Amplify Your Results
Movement after the session—a walk, yoga, or even dancing can help release any lingering intensity.
Share the load (if it helps)—sometimes telling a trusted person, “I did something big today,” makes it feel more real.
Be gentle with yourself—transformation isn’t linear. If old habits creep back, it doesn’t mean you’ve failed.
This is your journey. Every choice you make to support yourself—before, during, and after—adds power to your healing.
You’re worth the effort.

Aftercare & Integration: Honoring Your Transformation
Your therapy intensive is designed to create profound, meaningful shifts—and just like any powerful experience, it’s important to tend to yourself with care afterward. We’ll work together to prepare you for the emotional waves that may follow, so you can leave feeling grounded, empowered, and supported in your growth.
What to Expect After Your Intensive
Healing isn’t always linear, and your mind and body may continue processing in the days (or even weeks) after our session. Here’s what some clients experience:
Emotional sensitivity – You might feel tender, weepy, or more reactive than usual. This is normal—your nervous system is recalibrating.
Vivid dreams or memories – Your subconscious is still working things through. Journaling can help make sense of them.
Moments of relief and lightness – Many clients describe sudden clarity, calm, or a newfound sense of freedom.
Increased connection – You may notice yourself engaging with loved ones in more open, authentic ways.
Fluctuating energy – Some days you’ll feel energized; other days, you might need extra rest. Honor both.
Aftercare Practices to Stay Grounded
Gentle Movement
Take slow walks, stretch, or try restorative yoga. Movement helps your body release any residual tension.
Hydrate & Nourish
Drink plenty of water and eat grounding foods (like warm soups, nuts, or root vegetables). Your body has done hard work—fuel it kindly.
Journal Prompts for Integration
“What surprised me during the intensive?”
“What’s one small way I can honor what came up today?”
“What do I need to feel supported right now?”
Soothing Sensory Tools
Warm baths with Epsom salts, weighted blankets, or calming music can help regulate your nervous system.
Set Gentle Boundaries
If you’re feeling raw, it’s okay to take space from draining conversations or obligations. You’re allowed to prioritize your healing.
Reach Out for Support
Let a trusted friend know you might need extra care, or schedule a check-in with me if something comes up that you’d like to process.
We’ll Prepare You for This
Before your intensive ends, we’ll:
Create a personalized aftercare plan so you know exactly how to support yourself.
Practice grounding techniques you can use if emotions feel overwhelming.
Identify your “anchors”—people, practices, or places that help you feel steady.
This isn’t just about getting through the intensive—it’s about integrating your growth into your life in a way that feels sustainable and true to you. You don’t have to navigate it alone.
Remember: No matter how you feel after our intensive session, all of it is a valid and integral part of the process. There’s no “wrong” way to heal. We’ll make sure you’re equipped to handle it with compassion, curiosity and confidence.

Important Considerations Before Beginning a Therapy Intensive
While therapy intensives can be profoundly transformative, it’s important to be aware of the emotional process involved so you can make an informed decision about whether this approach is right for you. Deep healing work often brings up intense emotions, memories, and physical sensations—this is a normal part of the process, but it’s essential to prepare for it.
Potential Emotional & Psychological Effects
Engaging in focused trauma or deep emotional work may bring up:
Strong waves of emotion – Sadness, anger, grief, or even unexpected relief may surface during or after the session. These feelings are temporary but can feel overwhelming in the moment.
Activation of old wounds – Childhood memories, past traumas, or unresolved relationship pain may arise as part of the healing process.
Physical sensations – Some clients experience fatigue, tension, headaches, or body aches as stored emotions release.
Temporary increase in distress – Before feeling relief, some people experience a short-term intensification of symptoms (e.g., anxiety, nightmares, or emotional sensitivity). This is often a sign of processing, not regression.
Relationship shifts – As you change, your dynamics with others might feel different—sometimes in empowering ways, and sometimes in ways that require adjustment.
How We Mitigate Risks & Support You
Thorough Preparation
We’ll discuss your history, coping strategies, and support system before diving in, ensuring the intensive is right for you.
You’ll have a clear roadmap of what to expect, including breaks and grounding techniques.
Pacing & Consent
You are always in control—we’ll check in frequently, and you can pause or slow down at any time.
We’ll focus on resourcing (strengthening your coping skills) before processing deep material.
Aftercare Planning
You’ll leave with a personalized plan for post-intensive care, including:
Grounding exercises for emotional overwhelm.
Guidelines for rest and gentle self-care.
Emergency contacts or crisis resources if needed.
Follow-Up Support
Your integration session ensures we address any lingering challenges and reinforce your progress.
If needed, we can discuss ongoing sessions or additional intensives to continue your healing at a sustainable pace.
Is This the Right Time for You?
An intensive may not be the best fit if you:
Are currently in a crisis (e.g., active suicidality, untreated addiction, or recent trauma).
Lack a stable support system or safe living environment.
Feel unsure about revisiting difficult emotions without regular therapy support.
We’ll discuss this thoroughly in your pre-screener & intake session—your safety and well-being are the priority. If an intensive isn’t the right fit now, we can explore other options.
-
Who Might Not Be a Good Fit for a Therapy Intensive (At This Time)
While therapy intensives can be incredibly powerful, they aren’t the right choice for everyone—and that’s okay! Your safety and well-being come first. Based on your current needs and circumstances, an intensive may not be the best fit if you:
Are in active crisis – If you’re experiencing severe suicidal thoughts, untreated addiction, self-harm urges, or recent trauma (e.g., within the past few months), a slower, more contained therapy approach, or a higher level of care may be safer and more effective.
Lack emotional support – If you don’t have at least one trusted person (or a stable living situation) to help you process afterward, the emotional intensity could feel isolating.
Struggle with severe dissociation or psychosis – Deep trauma work requires the ability to stay grounded. If you frequently lose time, disconnect from reality, or struggle to feel present, we may need to strengthen those skills first.
Are unsure about revisiting painful material – Intensives require readiness to face hard emotions. If you feel hesitant or pressured (rather than willing and prepared), traditional therapy may be a gentler option.
Have significant physical health concerns – Chronic illness, recent surgery, or conditions like uncontrolled epilepsy can make long sessions physically taxing.
This doesn’t mean you’ll never benefit from an intensive—it just means we may need to lay more groundwork first. If we determine it’s not the right time during your intake, I’ll help you explore alternatives that support your healing at a sustainable pace.
Your safety matters most. If you’re unsure whether you’re ready, we can discuss it openly in your consultation—no pressure, no judgment. We will develop creative solutions tailored to your needs together.
