Life can be relentless at times and sometimes despite all your best efforts, it feels like you can’t stop repeating the same painful patterns from the past. No matter how many books, podcasts, or social media gurus you follow, you still end up in the same disappointing relationships, struggling to set boundaries, communicate effectively and feeling overwhelmed because you can’t seem to get your life together. I see how hard you're trying to balance it all on your own, but life is a shared experience, and I'd be honored to help you carry it.
I am dedicated to working with you to create a life that feels authentic and aligned with your core self. Underneath all of the things that life has piled on top of you, is a version of you that is empowered, resilient, secure and content. My hope is that our work together will help you embody that version of yourself. I work with adult individuals, relationships/couples, and adult families to help them process through the challenges that negatively impact their mental and emotional well being. Together we will create a judgment-free space to process through trauma, and develop core relationship skills including, communication, conflict resolution, emotional processing and regulation, and healthy boundaries. We will unpack all the baggage you're bringing to the table and help you overcome your past so you can finally break free from the stifling patterns that hold you back in life.
Trauma comes in many forms, but all pain is relative, and all pain demands to be felt. My eclectic approach incorporates somatic, attachment-based EMDR, and brainspotting techniques that allow us to process through trauma in transformative ways so that you can finally be free from your past. I have specialized training in dissociative trauma, religious trauma informed care, and I am passionate about working with people of all backgrounds including BIPOC, LGBTQ and people of marginalized communities. Traumatic experiences are those that strip us of our voice, choice and sense of self. Oftentimes the mind seeks to protect us from those experiences through dissociation, leaving us fragmented with gaps in our memory, and caught in defense mechanisms that often sabotage us. Together, we can use various techniques to work with unconscious parts of you that may seek to hinder the process of healing by creating the safety needed to resolve the roots of your pain. Furthermore, while faith is often a deeply empowering space for people, it can also be a space of harm, abuse, and shame for others. The confusing and disorienting experience of spiritual/religious trauma can leave us feeling lost, hopeless, alone, and untethered in life. I am deeply passionate about helping people navigate difficult faith transitions, deconstruction, and religious trauma to resolve the lasting impacts of high control religions on our relationships, self concept, and worldview so that you can reclaim your most authentic self.
Neurodivergence and ADHD have been receiving more widespread attention recently, which has helped many people, myself included, feel seen and validated. If you suspect you may be coping with ADHD or neurodivergence it can be a daunting and yet enlightening experience. Neurodivergence is a spectrum of nuanced symptoms and often manifests alongside other symptoms/diagnoses such as anxiety, depression, PMDD, and OCD that compound the impact it has on your functioning. Together we can explore your unique experiences to identify the strengths and the challenges you face with your symptoms, and develop effective systems and strategies to help you navigate a neurotypical world that was not built in your favor.
I believe that the relationships we encounter throughout life have transformative impacts on who we are. But oftentimes, we struggle to really connect with those we love. I want to empower you and your partner(s) to transform even the most painful conflicts into a space of team work and understanding so that you can find your way back to the connection, and love that you crave. Whether you're struggling with abandonment, jealousy, infidelity, communication, boundaries, or chronic conflicts that never get fully resolved, I want to help you cut through the noise, and learn to hear each other again. Alternatively, perhaps you and your partner(s) are hoping to develop healthy relationship skills to prepare for marriage, life transitions, the future or family planning, in which case, I am happy to walk with you on the journey of laying the foundation for the future you dream of. My approach is inclusive of all relationship types including monogamous, polyamorous, interracial, interfaith and LGBTQIA relationship systems.
Family conflict can be devastating to navigate alone. Oftentimes, the people who claim to love us most, leave the deepest scars. I work with adults who are estranged from their family members to create a space to process through the painful experiences that have led to the disconnection and find healing and hope. I also facilitate relationship therapy among estranged family members if their goal is to reconnect after estrangement or chronic conflict to help improve their ability to understand and empathize with each other.
Whatever challenges you are walking in with, wherever you are in your journey please know that nothing is "too much" and every single part of you is welcome here. I am dedicated to helping you find your own path to alignment and empowerment through developing deeper self awareness, trust in your intuition, and authentic embodiment. My hope is to make therapy more convenient and comfortable for you by offering virtual sessions that you can access from the comfort of your own home. My eclectic therapeutic approach is conversational, laid back, playful and sincere. I encourage movement, body-based techniques, raw authentic emotions (yes, even crying, and screaming! Don't worry I'll do it with you so you don't feel weird), techniques for self reflection and consciousness, as well as understanding the network of our nervous system and attachment so that we can navigate stressors more effectively. My clients and I love to laugh together, cry, explore, and ultimately embrace everything they bring to the table as we work towards creating a better life for them. Life is really hard, and I don't think anyone ever truly feels like they know what they're doing, so let’s just try to get through it together
